Louis J. Bokusky, age 67, of Maple Plain, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013, at his home.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place Tuesday, Sept. 17 at 11:30 a.m. at the St. Peter Catholic Church in Delano. Interment with military honors provided by Delano Legion Post 377 will be at Calvary Cemetery in Delano.
Visitation will be Monday, Sept. 16 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Iten Funeral Home in Delano, with a 7:30 p.m. rosary service; and will continue Tuesday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. in Martha Hall at the St. Peter Catholic Church in Delano.
Arrangements are being handled by the Iten Funeral Home in Delano.
Louis was born March 3, 1946, in Delano, to Jacob and Margaret (Pillatzke) Bokusky.
He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War, from January 1967 through September 1970. Louis was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds received during his service, as well as the Vietnam Service Medal.
Known for playing the piano accordion for local senior groups, Louis will be missed dearly for his musical contribution. He also loved fishing.
Louis is survived by his siblings, Mary Kowalke, Helen Neaton, Ed (Gerri) Bokusky, and Joe (Diane) Bokusky.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings Leo Bokusky, and Laura Karels; and brothers-in-law Donald Kowalke, George Karels, Sr., and Leo Neaton.
