Karole Ann Diethelm, age 64, of Delano passed away Sunday, June 23, 2013, at the Talahi Care Center in St. Cloud.
Karole was born April 30, 1949, to Roman and Erma (Thene) Popp in Little Falls.
Karole was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many.
She was employed as a nurse for more than 20 years in the Delano Health Care Center/Golden LivingCenter. Later in her work career, she became a deputy coroner for the Minnesota Regional Coroner’s Office in Hastings.
Karole loved to garden, both flowers and vegetables. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed cooking for others.
Karole was united in marriage to Vernon James Diethelm May 3, 1969, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Rice.
She is survived by her husband, Vernon; children Ann (Brian) Scheinost, Amy (Dennis) Edholm, and James Diethelm; grandchildren Jacob and Nathan Edholm, and Jackson and Bennett Scheinost; mother Erma Popp; and siblings, twin sister Kathy (Tim) Brastrup, William (LuAnn) Popp, Theodore (Bonnie) Popp, and Joel (Shirley) Popp.
Mass of Christian Burial took place Thursday, June 27 at 11 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church in Delano, followed by interment in the church cemetery.
Visitation was Wednesday, June 26 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Martha’s Hall of St. Peter Catholic Church, with a rosary service at 4 p.m.; and continued Thursday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. in Martha Hall prior to processing into church for the Mass.
Arrangements were by the Iten Funeral Home in Delano.
