Jane M. Dressel, 64

Jane M. Dressel, age 64, of Maple Plain, died Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013, at her home.

She was born Feb. 27, 1949, in Watertown, the daughter of Woodrow and Ardis (Guetzkow) Hecksel. Jane was baptized March 27, 1949 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Watertown by the Rev. John Spomer, and confirmed May 27, 1962, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Winsted by the Rev. Edgar F. Schroeder.

Jane graduated from Watertown High School May 31, 1967.

She was united in marriage to Ronald Dressel Oct. 11, 1969, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Winsted by the Rev. Edwin Friedrich.

A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Jane especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. She spent many hours cross-stitching, creating beautiful pictures which filled her home with love.

Jane was always up for a good conversation with her family and friends. Collecting angels was one of her many favorite activities.

She will be remembered for her strong, caring, and giving personality, and how she inspired everyone around her. Her bright, loving smile and funny personality, as well as her great cooking, will be missed.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Woodrow and Ardis Hecksel; sisters Janice Barfnecht and June Gongoll; brothers Lennis Hecksel and Eldron Hecksel; and nephew Darwin Barfnecht.

She is survived by her loving family: husband Ron; son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Shelly Dressel of Delano; daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Darys Bauman of Delano; grandchildren Evan Bauman and Wyatt Bauman; and step-grandchildren Joey and Heidi Carlson, Sara Carlson, Jake Carlson, and Dain Carlson.

Jane is further survived by her brother and sisters-in-in-law Marlin and Marlene Hecksel of Watertown, and Sharon Hecksel of Winsted; sister and brother-in-law Joyce and Ronald Schmidt of Maple Plain; brothers-in-law Jerry Gongoll of Waverly, and Donald Barfnecht and wife Mary of Watertown; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Marjorie Hoese of Waconia, Allen Thompson of Chico, CA, Bev and Rick Armstrong of Waconia, Tom and Delores Dressel of Glencoe, Wallace and Vera Dressel of Waconia, and Joanne Dressel of Howard Lake; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.

A memorial service took place Wednesday, Sept. 4 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Watertown with the Rev. Paul Krentz officiating.

Visitation was Tuesday, Sept. 3 from 5 to 8 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Watertown, and continued Wednesday one hour prior to the service. Jane’s godchildren, Alan Hecksel, Kristi Gongoll, and Jeremy Armstrong were the urn bearers. Interment was at Watertown Public Cemetery.
