Raymond Florio, age 66, of Lester Prairie, passed away Monday, Sept 16, 2013, while on vacation in Florida, from complications following pneumonia.
Services will take place Friday, Sept 27 at 1 p.m. at the Paul-McBride Funeral Home in Lester Prairie, followed by a Celebration of Life at his favorite place in town, the Dodge House, also in Lester Prairie.
Ray was the only child of Albert and Olive Florio of Cherry Hill, NJ, also deceased.
He leaves behind his best friend of 23 years, Deb Johns; stepson Presley Johns; his beloved grandchildren, Jayla and Anthony Johns; their mother Melissa Kuras of Howard Lake; and many friends.
Raymond will also be missed by BJ, Bill and Silas Peterson of Hibbing, Kelly, Chris, Julianna and Olivia Tollefson, and Laurie, Quentin and Victor Mertz of Lester Prairie. He also considered Steve (Chico) Wagner and his wife, Linda, to be his family.
He loved to travel, and worked for many years for Big A, one of the largest carnival companies on the East Coast. He was recognized as one of the best collection agents in the business by his peers.
He also enjoyed Twins baseball, football, and playing Texas Hold’em with his friends.
