Lowell Arthur Hertzog, age 74, of Montrose, and formerly of Watertown, passed away Saturday, July 13, 2013, at his residence.
He was born June 11, 1939 in Hutchinson, the son of Paul A. and Florence A. Krekelberg Hertzog.
Lowell was the proprietor of Starlite Bar in Freeport with his father, and was the proprietor of Hoffman Shoe Repair and Upholstery with his father-in-law in Watertown for many years.
He is survived by his wife Jo Nell Hertzog; children John (Barb) Hertzog of Waseca, Mary (Doug) Byrd of Sour Lake, TX, LouAnn (James) Morrow of Becker, and Jim Hertzog of Norwood Young America; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; sister Joan M. Kegler of Savage, brother Thomas R. (Deb) Hertzog of Freeport, and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Constance C. Hertzog, his parents Paul and Florence Hertzog, and sister Donna R. Cochran.
A Mass of Christian burial for Lowell Hertzog took place Thursday, July 18 at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. Father Paul Schumacher was the celebrant.
A visitation took place Thursday, July 18 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. A rosary took place at 10:45 a.m.
Casket bearers were Darren Keiper, Drake Mosford, Nicole Hertzog, Jessica Hertzog, Stephanie Hertzog, and Joseph Hertzog.
Arrangements were by Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted.
