Felix Leo Juncewski, age 86, of Winsted, passed away Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, at The Hutchinson Medical Center.
He was born March 8, 1926, in Silver Lake, the son of Steven and Irene Bugner Juncewski.
Felix was confirmed at St. Adalbert’s Catholic Church in Silver Lake.
He was joined in holy marriage with Sophie M. Fiecke Oct. 21, 1947. God blessed their marriage with three sons.
Felix and Sophie lived and farmed in rural Silver Lake. Felix also had a trucking business and a sod business.
They semi-retired to their new home in Winsted in 1990. From there, Felix continued to drive truck and work with his boys.
He was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted.
Felix is survived by his loving wife, Sophie M. Juncewski; sons Kenneth Juncewski of Silver Lake; Leonard “Lenny” (Linda) Juncewski of Winsted, and David Juncewski of Silver Lake; 11 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Fay was preceded in death by his parents, Steven and Irene Juncewski; stepmother Stella Juncewski; sister and brother-in-law Clifford and Lucinda Pilarski; daughters-in-law Bernadine Juncewski and Sandra Juncewski, twin grandsons: Shamla babies and by a nephew, Leonard Pilarski.
A Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial took place Thursday, Jan. 10 at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. Father Paul Schumacher and Father Eugene Brown were the concelebrants. Reader for the Mass was Daryl Kiefer, and gift bearers were Lauri Shamla and Darlene Kiefer. Interment followed at Holy Trinity Cemetery.
Visitation was Wednesday, Jan. 9 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., followed by a Knights of Columbus Rosary, and continued Thursday morning at the funeral home.
Casket bearers were Kenny Wraspir, Alan Juncewski, Mike Cacha, Paul Pokornowski, Joey Wraspir, and Blake Ogle.
