Melvin E. Keskey, age 86, of Cokato, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013, at his home.
He was born Feb. 6, 1927, in Wakefield, MI, to Ernest and Mamie (Bajari) Keskey.
Melvin graduated from Cokato High School and Minneapolis Business College.
He was a member of the 82nd Airborne in the US Army.
In October of 1954, Melvin was united in marriage to Joanne Hanson in Dassel.
Melvin made his employment with the Soo Line Railroad, Federal Government Payroll, and US Postal Service.
He was a member of the American Legion.
Melvin is survived by his children, Rebecca (Barry) Gustafson, Mary (Steven) Torola, and Erick (Amy) Keskey, all of Cokato; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brothers Earl and Roger Keskey; and a sister, Lavona Keskey.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; wife; a son, Timothy Keskey; and a brother, Clifford Keskey.
The funeral service took place Monday, Aug. 19 at 3 p.m. at the First Apostolic Lutheran Church in Dassel, with visitation one hour prior to services at the church. Interment followed at the Cokato Finnish Cemetery.
