Eleanore A. Kucera, 87

Eleanore A. Kucera, age 87, of Silver Lake, passed away Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at St. Mary’s Care Center in Winsted.

Visitation will be Monday, Jan. 21 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Maresh Funeral Home in Silver Lake, with a Rosary Society rosary and a CCW rosary recited at 5 p.m., and parish prayers at 7:30 p.m.; and will continue Tuesday morning, Jan. 22, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Tuesday, Jan. 22 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Silver Lake with Father Paul Schumacher as the celebrant. Interment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery in Silver Lake.

Casket bearers will be Robert Davidson, Jon Davidson, Brent Kucera, Stephen Kucera, Derek Kucera, and Wade Kucera.

Eleanore was born May 2, 1926, in Silver Lake, the daughter of Louis and Jenny Pawlak Yurek.

She attended school through the eighth grade.

Eleanore was joined in holy marriage with Leonard J. Kucera June 8, 1948, at St. Adalbert Catholic Church in Silver Lake. God blessed their marriage with three children.

Eleanore and Leonard engaged in dairy farming for many years on Leonard’s family’s homestead.

Eleanore enjoyed baking, gardening, canning, making homemade soup, and raising ducks and geese.

She was a faithful member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Silver Lake, and also belonged to the Rosary Society and CCW.

Eleanore is survived by her loving children: Kenny Kucera, Gerald (Luanne) Kucera, all of Silver Lake, and Donna (Gregory) Davidson of Winsted; nine grandchildren: Michelle, Derek and Wade Kucera; Fr. Jeremy, Stephen (Catherine), and Brent (Rachel) Kucera, and Rob (Stephanie) Davidson, Jonathan Davidson and friend Cory, and Jennifer (Rick) Stenberg; eight grandchildren: Victoria, Owen and Matthew; Ethan, Caidence, Leah, Nolan and Nathan; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard; her parents, Louis and Jenny Yurek; and brothers Ed and Florian.
