Kenneth John Lamecker, age 64, of Darwin, died, Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2013, at the Meeker Memorial Hospital in Litchfield.
He was born Aug. 10, 1948, in New Ulm, the son of Leo and Delores (Hindermann) Lamecker. Kenneth grew up in the New Ulm area and graduated from the Hutchinson High School.
He was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith.
Kenneth was employed by Dura Supreme in Howard Lake, where he had worked for the past 23 years as a carpenter.
He enjoyed a good conversation, and spending time with his family and friends. Kenneth loved mowing lawn, and working on his cars and tractors. He especially enjoyed talking on the CB radio as “KW.” He loved his dog “Ginger,” who was always by his side.
Kenneth is survived by his siblings, David Lamecker of Silver Lake, Dianne (Don) Lattimer of Willmar, Linda (Howard) Nordberg of Dassel, Ruth (Steve) Brecht of Darwin, Gary Lamecker of Ramsey, and Nancy (Rich) Reiley of Falcon, CO; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Richard; and an infant sister.
The funeral service took place Friday, Aug. 9 at 3:30 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home in Dassel with Fr. Brian Mandel officiating. Interment took place at New Ulm Catholic Cemetery in New Ulm at 10:30 a.m. Saturday Aug. 10.
There was visitation from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Friday, with a rosary at 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
The Johnson Funeral Home in Dassel handled the arrangements.
