Jeanette A. (Heuer) Lehtola, age 78, of Brainerd, passed away peacefully at home Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013, after an aggressive battle against bone cancer.
Jeanette (Jan) was born in Howard Lake, to George and Elaine (Engleman) Heuer.
She was an RN from 1955-1991, which took her from teaching nursing at Abbott Northwestern to a career with the Minnesota State Hospital.
Jan loved camping across the country with her family, and after retirement, she continued RV camping for many years with her husband.
She enjoyed fishing, crosswords, and needlework.
A devoted wife, mother, and sister, Jeanette will be remembered and missed dearly.
She is survived by her husband, Reuben, her “honey” of 52 wonderful years; four children, David (Rebecca) Lehtola of Aitkin, Michelle (Troy) Willi of Prescott, WI, Steven (Linda) Lehtola of Hastings, and Renee (James) Blocker of Merrifield; grandchildren Jenna, Alexander, Carly, Mitchell, Natasha, Samantha, Marko, and Megi; a sister, Mardis (Jerry) Gilmer; sister-in-law Joan (Darrell) Heuer; Kevin Bauer of Hastings; and nieces and nephews.
Her parents, George and Elaine; and her brother, Darrell, preceded Jeanette in death.
Services for Jeanette took place Thursday, Nov. 7 at 1 p.m. at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, with visitation prior to the service, beginning at noon.
