Kamyia Renea McCraney “Lashell Britton,” age 53, of Montrose, formerly of Akron, OH, died Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at her residence.
She was born Aug. 3, 1959, in Akron, OH, the daughter of Lee Britton and Sylvia McCraney.
Kamyia was formerly employed as a nurses’ aide at several nursing homes.
She enjoyed going to the casino, and making quilts.
Kamyia is survived by her children: Greg Britton of Cokato, Dontea Britton of Rochester, Lee Britton of Arizona, and James Britton of Montrose; 11 grandchildren; a sister, Pam Williams of Buffalo; three brothers: Gregory Britton of Buffalo, Lanuair Britton of Minneapolis, and Dean Britton of Chicago, IL; stepsisters Net and Tracy Williams, Sara Allen, and MaryAnn Ford; an aunt, Blanche Waynesboro; an uncle, Al Hosley; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Sylvia Fix Britton and Dominic Fix Britton; her parents, Lee and Sylvia; maternal grandparents, Carnie Bryant and Floyd Eaves; paternal grandparents Matthew and Margaret Knotts; and by a stepsister, Sarah.
Funeral services took place Wednesday, July 31 at noon at the Peterson Chapel in Buffalo. Interment followed at Maple Lake Community Cemetery in Maple Lake.
Visitation was Wednesday, July 31 from 11 a.m. until the time of the services at the Peterson Chapel.
Casket bearers were Ray Williams, Tristan Williams, Joe Christenson, Greg Britton, Mike Britton, and Bruce Nelson.
