Donald L. Morgan Sr., age 78, of Montrose, passed away Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013, at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
He was born March 16, 1935, in Turtle Lake, WI, to George and Mildred (West) Morgan.
Donald served in the US Marine Corp for six years during the Korean War.
He was the manager of a trailer park for 30 years, and a member of the Patriot Guard for the last two years.
Donald served his community for many years by giving bread and juice to those in need.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jean; stillborn daughter, Justine Marie Morgan; two brothers; and three sisters.
Donald is survived by his children, Scott Morgan of Garfield, Brad (Jennifer) Morgan of Brandon, Donald Morgan Jr. of Montrose, Rex (Joleen) Morgan of Monticello, and Michelle (James) Otto of Montrose; 15 grandchildren; one great-grandson and one great-granddaughter; a brother, Raymond “Toby” (Sue) Morgan of Mora; and sisters Deloris “Pid” Johnson of Minneapolis, and Ardyth “Sis” (Tony) Stream of Hertel, WI.
The funeral service took place Friday, Dec. 20 at 11 a.m. at the Peterson Chapel in Buffalo. Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
Visitation was Thursday, Dec. 19 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Peterson Chapel in Buffalo, and continued Friday, one hour prior to the service.
