Evelyn O. Mosher, age 94, of Buffalo, passed away peacefully from this life Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013, at her home.
She was born March 18, 1919, in Maple Lake Township, Wright County, to Richard and Paula (Sieg) Hoffman. Evelyn was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Buffalo.
Evelyn was united in marriage to Fred Loren Mosher Feb. 26, 1938, at the United Methodist Church in Buffalo. They farmed in Rockford Township, on Fred’s home place, and raised their two sons and five daughters.
A devoted wife, mother and homemaker, Evelyn worked hard on the farm, milking cows, tending to the chickens and ducks, gardening, canning, baking, and sewing. She enjoyed photography and always kept a journal, and was very interested in family history. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband Fred Mosher in 1993; four great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Erwin and Edith Hoffman; sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Henry Sullivan; sisters and brothers-in-law, Florence and George Ordorff, and Edna and Edward Liefert, and brother-in-law Chris Niesen.
She is survived by children, Sharon (Hubert) Vassar of Hopkins, Janice Mosher of Minneapolis, Marilyn (Robert) Beck, Lyle Mosher, all of Buffalo, Kathleen (Larry) Kautz of Cokato, Fred (Sandra) Mosher, and Pamela (Steven) Des Marais, also all of Buffalo; 25 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; her sister, Laura Niesen; her brother, Ronald (June) Hoffman; and many other relatives.
The funeral service was Saturday, Dec. 21 at 3 p.m. at Buffalo United Methodist Church, with visitation from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at the church. Interment was at Elmwood Cemetery, Rockford.
The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo handled the arrangements.
