Gilbert A. Paul, age 74, of Lester Prairie, died Friday, Dec. 20, 2013, at Abbott- Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
He was born Aug. 2, 1939, in Winsted, the son of John and Alvina Sterner Paul.
Gilbert A. Paul and Joan Tangney were joined in holy marriage April 27, 1979, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie.
Gilbert was formerly employed at Mid America, Schwartz Manufacturing, and at Sterner Lighting.
He enjoyed having coffee at Central Café in Lester Prairie, running his riding mower, and being outdoors.
Gilbert is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Joan Paul; a sister, Dorothy (David) Micka of Hutchinson; sisters-in-law Alice Paul of Silver Lake, and Lillian Paul of Fridley; three nephews and three nieces; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Alvina Paul; brothers Eugene and Harold Paul; a sister, Clara Pawelk; a brother-in-law, Edwin Pawelk; and a nephew, David Pawelk.
Funeral services took place Saturday, Dec. 28 at 11 a.m. at the Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted with Father Paul Schumacher officiating. Interment followed at the Winsted Public Cemetery.
Visitation was Friday, Dec. 27 from 4 to 8 p .m. at the Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted, and continued Saturday morning, one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted served the family.
