Louise Ann Peterson, age 83, of Dassel, died Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, at the Dassel Lakeside Nursing Home.
She was born July 30, 1929, in Dassel, to August and Annie (Sherwin) Soderberg.
Louise grew up in Dassel and graduated from Dassel High School in 1948. After school she helped at home and worked for a time at 3M in Hutchinson.
Louise married Dale Peterson March 10, 1951, at Gethsemane Lutheran Church of Dassel. The couple farmed south of Cokato for 40 years, and in 1991, moved to Pillager.
Louise enjoyed bowling and traveling. She was very active in her church, Stockholm Lutheran; was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and a Cub Scout leader. Most important was her family.
Survivors include her children: Steven of Cokato, Vicki (Mike) Jurek of Sartell, Mark (Debbie) Peterson, Michael (JoAnn) Peterson, all of Cokato, and Mitchell (Kelly) Peterson of Sartell; grandchildren Sarah Kisner, Stacy Rotzien, Rachel Bellamy, Nicole Thiel, Dan Jurek, Taylor Limbeck, Kelly Peterson, Kelsey Rutland, Sarah Roggatz, Zachary Peterson, and Rebecca Peterson; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She is further survived by her brother, Robert (Jane) Soderberg of Minneapolis; brother-in-law Warren Servin of Dassel; and sister-in-law Fern Glessing of Cokato.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents, August and Anne Soderberg; husband Dale; granddaughter Kari; and brothers and sisters: Earl, Arlene, Myrtle, Millie, Vernal, Carl, Wilton, Lloyd, Roy, Rodney, and Elsie.
The funeral service took place Friday, Jan. 11 at 2 p.m. at Stockholm Lutheran Church, rural Cokato. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
Visitation was Thursday, Jan. 10 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home of Cokato, and continued Friday, and one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.
Arrangements were handled by Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home of Cokato.
