Rosella A. Remer, 91

Rosella Agatha Remer, age 91, of Winsted, died Monday, April 8, 2013, at St. Mary’s Care Center in Winsted.

She was born Sept. 4, 1921, in Winsted, the daughter of Frank and Elizabeth Laxen Habisch.

Rosella and Anthony Remer were joined in holy marriage June 18, 1941, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. God blessed their marriage with four children.

Rosella was formerly employed in assembly at Tonka Toys.

In her younger days, she enjoyed canning pickles and tomato juice. She enjoyed playing cards, and also playing bingo at Mystic Lake. A sports fan, Rosella enjoyed following the Minnesota Vikings. She loved family get-togethers. In addition, Rosella and Tony enjoyed traveling, fishing, and especially going to Hackensack with their grandsons, and sometimes Rosella’s sisters.

When Rosella’s children were younger, she opened her home to other children.

She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted.

Rosella is survived by her loving children: Tony (Shirley) Remer of Howard Lake, and Betty (George) Jepson of Winsted; two grandsons: Nicholas (Marina) Jepson of Buffalo, and Nathan Jepson of Owatonna; three great-grandchildren: Sadie (Chance) Revier, Nina Jepson, all of Buffalo, and Lily Jepson of Eau Claire, WI; a brother, Alfred (Shirley) Habisch of Sturgeon Lake; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Elizabeth Habisch,; her husband, Anthony Remer; an infant son; her son, Dan; and siblings Agnes Carlson, Maggie Hausladen, Isabelle Wiemiller, Mary Krueger, Clara Kieser, Hank Habisch, Carl Habisch, Ed Habisch, and Joe Habisch.

A Mass of Christian Burial took place Saturday, April 13 at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted, followed by interment at Holy Trinity Cemetery. There was visitation at the church from 9 to 11 a.m.

Casket bearers were Nicholas Jepson, Nathan Jepson, Chance Revier, John Simons, Doug Remer, and Josh Durand.
