LuVerne M. Spagenske, age 78, of Maple Plain, died Thursday, March 21, 2013.
She was born Dec. 8, 1934, to George and Gladys (Lawrence) Smith in Washington Lake Township, MN.
LuVerne was united in marriage to Richard Michael Spagenske Nov. 5, 1952.
LuVerne worked as a waitress in the early years, and became employed by Gage Marketing, where she worked until 2000.
She enjoyed going to church to help on the annual sales and donations; and working with the other church members doing ironing, sewing, and enjoying each other’s company.
LuVerne and Richard enjoyed traveling, camping, and annual visits to Las Vegas. Time spent with their family was a priority.
LuVerne was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; brother Orlen Smith; sister Shirley Borne; sister-in-law Carol Smith; and brothers-in-law Wally Witt, and Gerald Spagenske.
She is survived by her children. Mike (Carol) Spagenske, Roger (Becky) Spagenske, and Patricia Spagenske; granddaughter Celena; four step-grandchildren: Chris, Kyle, Ron and Sara; 10 great-grandchildren; siblings Dale Smith, Gerry Witt and Lois Busch-Hartman; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services took place Wednesday, March 27 at 11 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church in Maple Plain, with the Rev. David Garwick officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Visitation was Tuesday, March 26 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the church, and continued Wednesday, from 10 to 11 a.m.
Arrangements were by the Iten Funeral Home in Delano.
