Yvonne Gloria Sundberg, age 80, of Buffalo, died Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013, at Lake Ridge Care Center in Buffalo after a long, hard battle with cancer.
She was born Dec. 1, 1932, in Minneapolis, the daughter of Romane and Almeda (Rasmussen) Frederick.
Yvonne graduated from North High in Minneapolis in 1950.
She had a great sense of humor and enjoyed pulling pranks on her loved ones. Yvonne also enjoyed many game shows (she always knew the answers), and loved mysteries and crime shows. She loved reading, enjoyed all kinds of puzzles, and had a special fondness for animals.
Yvonne was great at sewing, cooking, canning, and caretaking, having taken care of her father for many years after he had a stroke, her husband for years during a battle with cancer, and then her mother when she was no longer able to live on her own.
Yvonne is survived by her children, Faye (Daniel) Eckland of Paradise, CA, Chantelle Sundberg of Buffalo, and Charles “Joe” Sundberg of Delano; grandchild Jory Sundberg of Buffalo; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Charles Sundberg; and infant brother Dwayne.
A memorial service took place Monday, Nov. 11 at 9 a.m. at the Peterson Chapel in Buffalo. Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo assisted the family with arrangements.
