Lois A. Vosejpka, 82

Lois Ann Vosejpka, age 82, of Buffalo, died peacefully Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013, with her family by her side.

She was born July 22, 1931, to Victor and Laurette Scholz.

Lois was raised and went to school in Minneapolis, and later met and married Richard Benjamin Vosejpka Sept. 6, 1952. They raised six children in rural Excelsior; Jean (Greg) Hafften, Betsy (Ryan) Hintz, Tom (Annie), Ken, Karan (Rich) Blackmer, and Ben.

Lois made sure her children enjoyed learning by making simple things into adventures. She read using character voices to spark their imaginations. She loved themes, and made birthdays and holidays fun and exciting, and let her children grow up at their own pace, urging them to use their imaginations and creativity.

Lois always greeted people with a smile, and loved to chat. She loved children and they loved her back.

She had a love for gardening, butterflies, and birds, and especially enjoyed her grandchildren: Christopher Pultz, Jeremy Pultz, Bethany Blackmer, Ellen Blackmer, Marnee’ (Vosejpka) and Greg Ledet; and her great-grandchildren: Aaron Atchison, Zoe’ Steckelberg, Wyatt Vosejpka, and Lane Ledet.

Lois had many friends, especially in Florida, where she and Richard wintered at their home in St. James City on Pine Island.

Lois and Richard moved to Buffalo four years ago, and Richard preceded Lois in death Feb. 8, 2012.

In March of this year, Lois moved to Parkview Care Center in Buffalo. She will be missed by everyone that knew her.

Lois is survived by her sister, Carol Horan of Edina.

She was greeted in heaven by her parents; her brother Jack Scholz; husband Richard; son Thomas; and many friends.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for both Lois and Richard will take place Saturday, Sept. 14 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Buffalo. There will be a gathering of family and friends at 10 a.m., followed by an 11 a.m. Mass. Memorials can be sent to Buffalo Kiwanis at P.O. Box 731, Buffalo, MN. 55313.
