Dorothy Delores Andersen, age 91, of Mayer, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2014, at the Marie Steiner Kelting Hospice House in Chaska.
The funeral service will be Monday, Sept. 22 at 11 a.m. at Prairie Community Church (700 1st Ave. N.) in Lester Prairie, with the Rev. Bill Baldwin as officiant. Interment will be in the Lester Prairie City Cemetery.
Visitation was Sunday, Sept. 21 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home in Waconia, and will continue Monday at the church, one hour prior to the service.
Serving as casket bearers are Harvey Dvorak, Myron Dvorak, Donald Splichal, James Juhl, Travis Kubasch, and Douglas Anderson.

Dorothy was born Oct. 30, 1922, in Hutchinson, the daughter of Louis and Mary (Smahel) Dvorak. She was baptized and confirmed at the Silver Lake Presbyterian Church.
Dorothy was united in marriage with Henrik Andersen March 27, 1940, in Algona, IA. The couple made their home in Hutchinson and Hopkins, before moving to rural Mayer in 1967.
Dorothy had worked for Red Owl, and alongside her husband at Andersen Polishing.
She enjoyed being with young children and buying them presents; loved celebrations, especially Christmas and birthdays; and always remembered to send a card.
Dorothy was very competitive, and enjoyed playing cards and other games. She loved to cook and share a meal with others.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Mary Dvorak; daughters-in-law Patricia Andersen and Lynn Andersen; sisters Helen, Rose, and Gladys; and brothers Harvey, Leonard, and Joseph.
Dorothy is survived by her loving family: husband Henry Andersen of Mayer; children Gary Andersen of Mayer, Rodney Andersen of Maple Grove, and Charlotte (George) Froman of McCook, NE; grandchildren Kirsten (Peter) Campbell, Vickery (Bryan) French, Todd (Mieko) Andersen, Tim Andersen, Troy (Kimberly) Andersen, Michael (Kelli) Froman, and Julie (Joe) Gillespe; great-grandchildren Megan and Joshua Campbell, Henry and Eleanor French, Kaylee, Jacob and Jason Andersen, Nicholas and Zachary Froman, and Andersen, Tucker and Reese Gillespe; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.
