Virginia Ann “Ginny” Anderson, age 77, of Delano, passed away Sunday, Sept. 7, 2014. She spent her final days surrounded by family, friends, and prayers.
Ginny was born Oct. 11, 1936, in Menominee, MI, the beloved daughter of Marion and Hazel Larson. She was an optimistic, generous, and caring person with children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many friends and neighbors who adored her.
Ginny grew up in Iowa, and graduated from Lake Mills, IA high school. She was definitely in tune with “the Happy Days of the ‘50s,” having the ability to laugh at herself and make others laugh, no matter the situation.
Even with serious health issues since she was 10 years old, Ginny never complained, and taught others the value of a good attitude in difficult situations. Instead, she lived her live selflessly, available to those around her, listening well and giving great advice.
Ginny’s faith was a very important part of her life, and she spent time every day praying for her family and friends. She was a member of Village Evangelical Free Church, and previously served as the head of deaconesses and a leader within the children’s ministry. Her love for the Lord permeated her entire life.
As a woman of faith and fun, Ginny always brought Christmas to life. She was known for her beautiful, elaborate decorations.
Virginia was survived by children, Kathleen (Jonathan) Sorbie, Doug, and James (Gena); grandchildren Tiffany, Stacie, Ami, Elijah, Brittany, Bethany, Jared, Kaidyn, and Kaiya; three great-grandchildren, Colby, Brayden and Addison; a brother, Roger (Myrt) Larson; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marion and Hazel Larson; a brother, Richard; and a son, Richard.
Funeral services took place Friday, Sept. 12 at 11 a.m. at Village Church.
There was public visitation at the church Thursday, Sept. 11 from 5 to 8 p.m.
Arrangements were made by the Peterson Chapel in Buffalo.
