Philip Ernest Barfknecht, age 68, of Maple Plain, passed away Monday July 7, 2014 ,at the Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.
He was born Dec. 1, 1945, in Watertown, to Ernest and Myrna (Zitzloff) Barfknecht, Sr.
Philip loved the outdoors. He enjoyed running heavy excavating equipment, deer hunting, fishing, and planting.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son Bradley; brother Dale; and sister Joann Barfknecht.
Philip is survived by his children, Annette (Michael) Hocker, Paula Heck, and Wade; six grandchildren, Haley, Brandan, Jesse, Sara, Erin and Cody; one great-grandson, Leo; brothers Ernest Jr (Liliane) and Robin (Maryann); and special friend Sharon David.
Funeral services took place Saturday, July 12 at 11 a.m. at Lyndale Lutheran Church in Lyndale.
Visitation was Friday, July 11 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Iten Funeral Home in Delano, and continued Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church, prior to service.
Arrangements were by the Iten Funeral Home in Delano.
