Mildred J. Buske, 96

Mildred Josephine Buske, age 96, of Hutchinson (formerly of Silver Lake), passed away Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2014, at the Senior Care Center in Windcrest, TX.

She was born May 24, 1918, in Stockholm Township, Wright County, the daughter of Gustav A. and Clara Wilhelmina (Dehlin) Skoog. Mildred received her education in Silver Lake, Minnesota, and was a graduate of the Silver Lake High School Class of 1937.

She was united in marriage to Allen Buske Sept. 12, 1940, in Glencoe. This marriage was blessed with two children, Anita and Terry.

Mildred and Allen resided in Silver Lake, and moved to Pampa, TX in 1942. They shared 30 years of marriage until Allen passed away April 7, 1970.

Mildred was employed at the F.W. Woolworth Company in Hutchinson for many years. She was employed at Costons Bakery and Woolworth in Pampa, TX, as a bookkeeper. Mildred retired in 1982.

She was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Hutchinson, the Hutchinson American Legion Auxiliary Post 96, the Hutchinson Clowning Club, and the Hutchinson Bowling League.

Mildred enjoyed clowning, fishing, and bowling. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends.

She is survived by her son, Terry Buske and his wife, Alice of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren Marci French, Scott French, Terri Shaner and her husband, Gary, Cara Tanner and her husband, Steve, and Ruth Anne Schroeder and her husband, Michael; great-grandchildren Christopher Schroeder, Cory and Kyle Schroeder, Jacob Colmer French, Jillian Shaner, Clayton Shaner, Jordan (Buske) Dean, Gage Tanner, and Haley Tanner; and many other friends and relatives.

In addition to her husband, Allen, Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, Gustav and Clara Skoog; daughter, Anita French; brothers Earl Skoog, Clayton Skoog, Lester Skoog, and Donald Skoog; and great-grandson Gary A. Shaner.

Funeral services took place Wednesday, Oct. 29 at 11 a.m. at First Congregational United Church of Christ in Hutchinson, with interment in St. Joseph Cemetery in Silver Lake. Pastor Cindy Mueller officiated at the services. The organist was Sharon Barton; and soloist Brain Brosz sang “The Lord’s Prayer.” Congregational hymns were “How Great Thou Art,” “A Closer Walk With Thee,” and “Shall We Gather At The River.”

Casket bearers were Vern Daak, Roger Skoog, Gene Skoog, Larry Buske, Loren Buske, and Clint Gruett.
