Norma Jean Donovan, age 74, of Cokato, passed away Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014, at the Cokato Manor.
She was born July 31, 1939, in Fergus Falls, to Harold James and Alice Mabel (Hebron) Winans. Norma grew up in Fergus Falls, and at a young age, moved to Minneapolis.
Norma married Thomas Leo Donovan Nov. 23, 1955. They were married in Robbinsdale, and made their home in Minneapolis. Norma and Thomas did janitorial and security guard work around the Minneapolis and Robbinsdale area.
Norma enjoyed fishing and camping, and being with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed going wherever Thomas was playing music.
She was a good mother and housewife. Most important was her love for the Lord, and she loved her church.
Norma is survived by her husband, Thomas, of Cokato; children Richard of Brooklyn Park, Pamela (Joe) Pearson of Cokato, Julie (Ty) Short of Plymouth, and Tammera Donovan of Cokato; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and brothers and sisters Linda, Terry, David, Gail, and Phillis.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Alice Winans; a sister, Rose; and an infant son, Tommy.
The funeral service took place Saturday, Jan. 18 at 11 a.m. at Washburn-McReavy Swanson Chapel in Minneapolis.
Arrangements were with the Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Cokato.
