Marjorie H. Jerde, age 85, of Ramsey, formerly of Delano, passed away Saturday, Jan. 25 peacefully at home with her family by her side.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, Feb. 4 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church in Delano, with a gathering from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., prior to the Mass, at Martha Hall of St. Peter Catholic Church. Inurnment will be at Calvery Cemetery, Delano.
Arrangements are by the Iten Funeral Home in Delano.
Marjorie was born Feb. 27, 1928, to Joe and Blanche (Fautsch) Gallus of Montrose.
She met a handsome young man named Floyd Jerde from Lyndale. They married in 1946, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church.
Floyd began serving in the US Army, while Marge lived at the home of her parents until Floyd returned after two years in the service.
Floyd and Marge raised two daughters, Cheryl and LuAnn.
Marge enjoyed working and owning the Bo-Do Café in Delano with her husband.
In 2000, Marge retired from the Delano Care Center after 26 years of service.
Marge loved entertaining and fishing at their lake home on Lower Mission Lake in Merrifield, embroidery work, traveling with her daughters and family, and cooking and baking for her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a baby brother; husband Floyd; son-in-law Mike Roskop; and sister Eleanor Adickes.
Marjorie is survived by her children, Cheryl (David), and LuAnn (Joe); five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sisters LaVerne Johnson, and Betty Rogers; brother Ralph Gallus; nieces, nephews, and many relatives and friends.
