Phillip C. Johnson Obituary – 3/20/2014


Phillip C. Johnson, age 69, of Plymouth, died Thursday, March 20, 2014.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Jane; children, Aaron (Tricia), Barbara (Mark) Ylitalo, Cristie (David) Maki Goldberger, Daniel (Beth), and Emily (Ken) Haataja; grandchildren Jack, Katie, Brooke, Madeline, Janey, Ryan, Griffin, Daniel, Bradley, Abby, Benjamin, Thomas, Aaron, Rachel, Margaret, Emma, and Calvin; step-grandchildren Joshua, Jordan, Robbie, Noah, and Eli Goldberger; brothers Daniel (Carol), Paul (Judy), Peter (Pearl), Michael (Judy), and Mark; sister-in-law Delores Johnson; and many special in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends.

Phillip was preceded in death by an infant son, Nathan Phillip; daughter-in-law Kristy Hannus Johnson; parents George and Impie Johnson; stepfather Charles Kangas; brothers Robert and David; and a nephew, Thomas.

Phillip and Jane were married April 8, 1967, in Cokato. They lived in the Cokato area from 1982 to 2007, and then moved to the Twin Cities area.

Phillip loved woodworking, golfing, Bible study, and coffee with friends.

Funeral services took place Monday, March 24 at 10 a.m. at Plymouth Apostolic Lutheran Church. Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

There was visitation Sunday, March 23 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Gearty-Delmore Plymouth Chapel, and visitation continued Monday at 9 a.m. at the church.
