David Edward Kosek, age 54, of Silver Lake, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, surrounded by his loving family at his home.
Funeral services will take place Monday, Feb. 10 at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Silver Lake with Father Patrick Okonkwo and Father Tony Stubeda as concelebrants.
Visitation was Sunday, Feb. 9 from 4 until 8 p.m. at the Maresh Funeral Home in Silver Lake, and will continue. Monday from 9 until 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
Casket bearers will be Jason Babatz, Tony Rozeske, Troy Rozeske, Mark Lewandowski, Travis Jacques, and Chad Salmela.
Honorary casket bearers will be Austin Feltmann, Abby Feltmann, Amanda Teubert, Beau Teubert, Jennifer Jacques, Carter Kosek, Tami Alsleben, Melissa Barsness, Gary Lhotka, and Dan Dolezal.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to The Richard M. Schulze Family American Cancer Society Hope Lodge-Mpls.

David was born Oct. 11, 1959, the son of Clemens and Verona (Zabel) Kosek.
He was joined in holy marriage with Karen Rozeske Sept. 29, 1984, at St. Adalbert’s Catholic Church in Silver Lake. Their marriage was blessed with three beautiful daughters; Katie, Kim, and Jamie.
David was formerly employed at Lester’s Inc., Littfin Lumber, and Wal-Mart.
He had a passion for hunting, fishing, camping, football, and family get-togethers. A loyal fan of high school football, David wouldn’t dare to miss a game.
He and his family enjoyed many weekends camping and fishing. David also loved hunting with his daughters, dad, brothers, uncles, cousins, and nephews.
He is survived by his loving wife, Karen; daughters: Katie (Justin) Ryks, Kim (Joe Goettl), and Jamie; grandchildren Ian Ryks and Emma Goettl; parents Clemens and Verona Kosek; siblings Mike Kosek, Pat (Chris) Jacques, Julie Teubert, and Carla (Brent) Feltmann; sisters-in-law Jean (Ben) Lewandowski and Marilyn Salmela; brother-in-law Tom (Linda) Rozeske; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.
David was preceded in death by his grandparents; and in-laws.
