Michael R. Lauzer Obituary – 7/28/2014


Michael Rodney Lauzer, age 65, of Howard Lake, passed away Monday, July 28, 2014, at his residence.

A memorial service will take place Saturday, Aug. 2 at 11 a.m. at St. James Lutheran Church in Howard Lake with the Rev. David Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery.

There will be a time of gathering Saturday, one hour prior to services at the church.

Michael was born Dec. 1, 1948, in Watertown, the son of George and Lorraine (Drawert) Lauzer.

He was baptized on the farm, and confirmed at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Winsted.

He graduated from Howard Lake High School in 1966.

Michael worked on the family farm while growing up, and was formerly employed as a punch press operator at Ron Vik Inc.

He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Howard Lake.

Michael enjoyed hunting, guns (and loved talking about guns), and motors and tractors (especially John Deere). He especially loved and adored his grandsons.

He is survived by his mother, Lorraine Lauzer; two daughters: Cari (Paul) Gaines, and Shelley (Jamie) Stotko; a son, Benjamin (Valerie) Lauzer; grandchildren Justin, Darin, Brandon and Alex Bebo, and Andrew and Jacob Lauzer; sisters and brothers Sharon Hecksel, Dennis (Patricia) Lauzer, LuAnn (Robert) Ryks, Jim (Renee) Lauzer, David (Kelly) Lauzer, and Cheryl (Lee) Hamilton; and other relatives and friends.

Michael was preceded in death by his father, George Lauzer; a brother, Richard; and by a nephew, Joshua.
