Alice ‘Sunny’ Laxen, 95

Alice Marie “Sunny” Laxen, age 95, of Buffalo, and formerly of Hamel and Maple Lake, passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at Park View Care Center in Buffalo.

She was born Jan. 5, 1919, in Garner, IA, the daughter of Charles and Julia Chmela Urich.

Raymond Laxen and Alice Urich were joined in marriage Oct. 7, 1953, at St. Timothy Catholic Church in Maple Lake.

Alice loved her dogs and cats!

She is survived by a brother, Ken (Patty) Urich of Maple Lake; a nephew, Brian Urich of Maple Lake; a niece, Judy (Tom) Neumann of Buffalo; and other relatives and friends.

Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Laxen, Dec. 2, 1982; her parents, Charles and Julia Urich; a brother, Ray Urich; and by a sister, Dorothy Urich.

A Mass of Christian Burial took place Friday, April 25 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Timothy Catholic Church in Maple Lake with Father John Meyer as the celebrant. Special music was provided by The Resurrection Choir. Reader for the Mass was Peggy Marquette. Gift bearers were Adam Neumann, Natalie Neumann, Zach Marquette, Sam Marquette, and Jacob Galles. Servers were Alex Marquette, Matthew Neumann, and Nathan Galles. Interment followed at 2 p.m. at Holy Trinity Cemetery in Winsted.

There was visitation at the church one hour prior to Mass.

Casket bearers were Randy Galles, Randy Urich, Bill Neumann, Kevin Marquette, Brian Urich, and Tom Neumann.
