Jeanette C. Patrick, age 77, of Waconia, passed away Saturday, April 5, 2014, surrounded by her family, at the Marie Steiner Kelting Hospice House in Chaska.
She was born Feb. 10, 1937, in Cologne, the daughter of Martin and Eleanor (Wickenhauser) Schmitz. Jeanette was baptized and confirmed at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Cologne.
She was united in marriage to Terry Patrick Feb. 14, 1981.
Jeanette was very active in the community volunteering at the VFW and American Legion, the Once Again Shop, as an election judge, and at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. She also served on the PR committee in her development in Tucson, AZ.
Jeanette had a knack for being in the kitchen, making up her wonderful meals. She enjoyed bowling, and a round of golf.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle Klatt; parents Martin and Eleanor Schmitz; sisters Helen Hansel, Florence Schmitz, Sally Mieseler, Ethel Hartmann, and Ruth Louis; and brothers Wilfred and Gene Schmitz.
Jeanette is survived by her family; husband Terry; daughters Lynn Garfunkel of Minnetonka, and Gayle Notermann of Mound; sons and daughters-in-law Marty and Kristen Klatt of Mooresville, NC, Monty and Marion Klatt of Lester Prairie, and Brian Klatt of Waconia; stepdaughter and husband Kathy and Lou Patrick-Seligman of St. Paul; grandchildren Christopher and Kirstin Notermann, Timothy Notermann, David Garfunkel and fiancée Stephanie Garry, Lisa Garfunkel and fiancé Josh Sitton, Sam Garfunkel, Patrick Cox and fiancée Rory, Derrick Cox, Corey Cox, Benjamin Klatt, Brayden Klatt, and Sean Peralta; and great-grandchildren Karsyn Nortermann, and Caleb Notermann.
She is further survived by sisters and brother-in-law Lorraine Kelzer of Waconia, and Marilyn and Richard Borka of Waconia; brother and sisters-in-law Roger and JoAnn Schmitz of Cologne, and Elaine Schmitz of Waconia; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial took place Thursday, April 10 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waconia, with visitation from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass at the church. Interment was at St. Bernard’s Catholic Cemetery.
Casket bearers were Chris Notermann, Tim Notermann, Alan Hansel, Paul Kelzer, Steve Schmitz, and Randy Hartmann.
