Isla Mae Perrill, 82

Isla Mae Perrill, age 82, of Hutchinson, formerly of Howard Lake, passed away Friday, Jan. 24, 2014, in Gallup, NM.

She was born April 13, 1931, in Howard Lake, the daughter of Herbert and Martha (Moritz) Tuchtenhagen. Isla was baptized as an infant, and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth April 2, 1944, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Arlington.

She received her education in Arlington, and was a graduate of the Arlington High School class of 1949.

Isla was united in marriage to Calvin Johnson May 5, 1951. This marriage was blessed with three children, Brad, Lynn, and Kay.

On April 23, 1982, Isla was united in marriage to James Provencher. Isla and Jim resided in Hutchinson, and shared 12 years of marriage until James passed away Jan. 16, 1995.

Isla was united in marriage to Norman Perrill July 3, 2002. Isla and Norman resided in Hutchinson, and wintered in Mesa, AZ. They shared 11 years of marriage.

Isla was employed at the 3M Company in Hutchinson for 32 years. She retired July 1, 1990.

She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson, and the Hutchinson American Legion Auxiliary Post 96.

Isla enjoyed traveling, and had been to Europe twice, as well as traveling to various places within the United States. She was married to Norman in Sitka, Alaska, while on an Alaskan Cruise.

Isla also enjoyed reading and baking. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren, and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Norman Perrill of Hutchinson; and children, Brad Johnson of Scottsdale, AZ, Lynn Zimmerman and her husband, Jeff of Stewart, and Kay Schneider and her husband, Jeff of Savage.

Isla is further survived by grandchildren Jake and Kayla Zimmerman, Preston Johnson, and Mason and Sam Schneider; great-grandson Briar Miller; stepchildren Mary Dallmann and her husband, Mark of Lake Lillian, and Peg Lux and her husband, James of Cosmos; step-grandchildren Jared Groehler and his wife, Janelle; Leah Knudsen and her husband, Cal; and Cole and Dylan Lux; nieces; nephews; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Martha Tuchtenhagen; first husband, Calvin Johnson; second husband, James Provencher; brothers Orrin, Vern, Kenneth and Lloyd Tuchtenhagen; and sisters Adeline Powless and Ione Hebeisen.

The funeral service took place Friday, Feb. 14 at 11 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson, with a gathering of family and friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment was at Oakland Cemetery in Hutchinson.

Arrangements were handled by Dobratz-Hantge Chapel in Hutchinson.
