Irvan Ferdinand Posusta, age 89, of Glencoe, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2014, at Glencoe Regional Health Services.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Monday, Dec. 15 at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Silver Lake with Father Tony Stubeda as the celebrant. Alice Nowak will be the organist for the Mass.
Visitation was Sunday, Dec. 14 from 4 to 8 p.m. at The Maresh Funeral Home in Silver Lake, with a Knights of Columbus Rosary at 5:30 p.m., and a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. There will be further visitation Monday morning at the funeral home, one hour prior to Mass.
Casket bearers will be Glen Posusta, Gale Posusta, Ron Posusta, Ralph Posusta, Myron Posusta, and Lenny Ardolf.

Irvan was born Dec. 3, 1925, in Bergen Township, McLeod County, the son of Joseph and Matilda (Emme) Posusta.
He graduated from Silver Lake High School in 1943.
Irvan was joined in holy marriage with Margaret F. Brychta June 25, 1966, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Silver Lake. God blessed their marriage with two sons.
Irvan engaged in farming for many years, and did custom work for area farmers. He was a fun-loving and hard-working man.
He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Silver Lake, and a member and a past Grand Knight of Knights of Columbus Mother Cabrini Council 1841.
Irvan formerly belonged to the Farmers Union.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Margaret F. Posusta; sons Jonathon (Debbie) Posusta of Lester Prairie, and Kenneth Posusta of Glencoe; grandchildren Derek and Jenaya Posusta; a sister, Dorothy Ernhart of Bemidji; a brother, Ray (Rose) Posusta of Cokato; and other relatives and friends.
Irvan was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings Lenora Pokorny, Wilfred Posusta, Evelyn Posusta, and Myrtle Schlagel.
