John William Rausch, age 67, of Plymouth, formerly of Cokato, died Sunday, Sept. 7, 2014.
He was born March 21, 1947, in Cokato, and graduated from Cokato High School in 1967.
After graduation, John moved to Fergus Falls, where a former high school teacher, Larry Anderson, arranged for him to stay and work at a facility there.
While there, he met Deborah Austin, and they were married Sept. 14, 1974. They were divorced Dec. 12, 1975.
John then moved back to live with his parents in Plymouth, until the time of his mother’s death in 1983. Since that time, John lived in various Whittier Group Homes.
He worked for Task Unlimited until he recently retired.
A cancer survivor, John had gone through various treatments.
He always enjoyed brief family outings, but was always anxious to go back to his home at Whittier Place.
John is survived by his sisters, Lynn (Mike) Granquist, Barb (Bob) Holly, and Judy (Neto) Silva; many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and a great-great nephew; numerous cousins; and his aunt, Marjorie Breitholtz.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Bill and Muriel (Breitholtz) Rausch; and brother-in-law, Perfecto Silva.
