Steven P. Reinke, 61

Steven Paul Reinke, age 61, of Cannon Falls, died unexpectedly Friday, Aug. 8, 2014, while in Cheboygan, MI.

He was born April 22, 1953, in Winsted, to Orville and Jeanette Reinke.

Steven was a 1971 graduate of Cannon Falls High School.

He married his high school sweetheart, Pamela Jean Lorenson, July 14, 1973.

Steven entered active duty in the US Coast Guard and served at a variety of locations including Duluth, Keokuk, IA, and Cheboygan, MI. After his honorable discharge, the couple moved to Cannon Falls, and Steven took a position at the Bulk Mail Center (BMC) in Eagan.

Devoted to his family, Steven loved his wife dearly. They enjoyed their annual family vacations to the lake, and especially the get-aways that he and Pam took to the Maple Island Resort. Steve was also an avid fisherman and gardener.

He is survived by his children, Jennifer (Jim) Novek of Goodhue, and Jeremy (Sara) Reinke of Geneva; five grandchildren, Shelby and Jonathan Quade, Jamie, Drew and Karly Reinke; siblings Dwight (Mavis), Cheryl (Kevin) Schiller, Tim (Cindy), Cindy (George) Pappas, Gail Miller, and Sandy (Dave) Gryzwinski, and their families; mother-in-law Vi Lorenson of Cannon Falls; and foster parents June and George Nick, and Glenn “Unc” and Ellen Weibel.

Steven was preceded in death by his loving wife, Pam; his father-in-law, Dale Lorenson; mother, Jeanette Moonen; and foster brother, Sean Weibel.

The funeral service took place Saturday, Aug. 16 at 11 a.m. at St. Ansgar’s Lutheran Church in Cannon Falls, with Pastor Carol Sinykin officiating.

Visitation was Friday, Aug. 15 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Lundberg Funeral Home in Cannon Falls, and continued Saturday at church from 10 to 11 a.m. Private interment at the Cannon Falls Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Jason Santos, Sean and John Weibel, Jacob Werner, Adam Chytracek, and Troy Reinke.

Honorary pallbearers were Steven’s children and grandchildren, godchildren, Gwen Werner, and Kirsten Schiller.

Memorials are preferred to St. Ansgar’s Lutheran Church.
