Ione M. Rieder, 96, of Watertown, passed away Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014, at the Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.

There will be a memorial service Saturday, Jan. 18 at 1 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church (201 Buffalo Street) in Delano, with the Rev. Bridget Haefner officiating. Family and friends will gather one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ Cemetery in Delano.

Ione was born Dec. 12, 1917, in South Haven, the daughter of Henry and Selma (Wolff) Krampitz.

She was united in marriage to Arthur H. Rieder Nov. 30, 1939.

Ione was known for her sense of humor, spirited personality, and as an excellent cook. She had a love of life, and enjoyed music, dancing, traveling, playing bridge, but most of all, time spent with people.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur H. Rieder; a brother, Dr. Lester Krampitz; and a sister, Kathryn Wallace.

Ione is survived by her loving family; daughter and son-in-law Yvonne and Paul Sandell of Mounds View; son Charles “Chuck” Rieder of Watertown; sisters-in-law Dorothy Tulkki, and Betty Rieder, both of Delano; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.
