Debra Rae Rusch, age 60, of Dassel, died Thursday, April 24, 2014, at Meeker Memorial Hospital in Litchfield.
A funeral service will take place Tuesday, April 29 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Litchfield, with the Rev. Paul Lindhorst officiating.
There will be a time to gather with the family one hour prior to the service at the church.
Debra was born April 18, 1954, in Litchfield, the daughter of Ludwig and Frieda (Schlueter) Rusch. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Litchfield.
Debra attended District 15 school in Darwin Township, graduated from Litchfield High School in 1972, and later attended Willmar Community College.
Deb worked at the Country Kitchen for three years, nursing home for several years, and for the past 32 years, has been employed by 3-M in Hutchinson.
She was active in 4-H while young and showed sheep at the county fair, winning several trips to the Minnesota State Fair.
Debra enjoyed spending time with neighbors and classmates, Nancy Roeske, Mary Levinski, and Cindy Pollock. She enjoyed fishing and made several trips salmon fishing to Lake Michigan with her folks. After her dad passed away, she took her mother with her on two trips to Alaska halibut fishing and touring Denali National Park.
Deb loved photography, taking many pictures for friends at their weddings. She loved to travel, going to Germany while in high school, and had taken several road trips out west, as well as visiting the east coast with her mother.
Debra was preceded in death by her parents, Ludwig and Frieda; and a brother, Lorence.
She is survived by a brother, Gary Rusch of Darwin; two nieces, Scarlet and Lorien; two nephews, Austin Rusch and Matthew Micels; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
