Harriet Evelyn Salzwedel, age 75, of Dassel, passed away Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014, at the St. Cloud Hospital. Following a battle with cancer that lasted several years, she is now at peace.
Harriet was born Dec. 26, 1938, in Minneapolis, to Edward and Sextoria (Noren) Miller. She grew up in Minneapolis, and graduated from North High School.
Harriet worked in the Extension Office at the Wright County Courthouse for several years, owned and operated a bait shop on Limestone Lake in Silver Creek Township for many years, and also worked at Walmart in Monticello.
She enjoyed hunting, fishing, canning, and gardening. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and family.
Harriet is survived by her children, Valerie (Tim) Stillman, Scott (Ruth) Stillman, Tracy (Patty) Salzwedel, Lynelle LeMontagne, Pamela (Hank) Potter, and Duane (Kathy) Salzwedel, Jr.; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters Marilyn (Don) Anderson, Shirley Kowalczek, and Delores Long; and brother-in-law Bill Ziegler.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Sextoria Miller; husbands Duane Salzwedel and Harvey Stillman; brothers Thomas and Robert Miller; and beloved sister Jeanne Ziegler.
A memorial service took place Wednesday, Sept. 3 at 3 p.m. at Peterson-Grimsmo Chapel in Monticello, preceded by visitation from 2 to 3 p.m. Private interment was at Corinna Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements were with the Peterson-Grimsmo Chapel of Monticello.
