Carol (Johnson) Smith, age 82, of St. Louis Park, formerly of Cokato, died Monday, April 21, 2014.
A memorial service will take place Tuesday, April 29 at 10:30 a.m., with visitation one hour prior to the service, at Washburn-McReavy Strobeck-Johnson Chapel in Hopkins. Interment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
Carol was born Aug. 15, 1931, in Cokato.
She attended Cokato schools and was a member of the 1949 Cokato High School graduation class.
A longtime resident of St. Louis Park, both Carol and her husband, Milton, were known for their volunteer efforts with the VFW, Elks, and Cooties.
Carol worked for Preferred Travel of Hopkins until her retirement.
She enjoyed traveling, especially to Hawaii.
Carol was preceded in death by her loving husband Milton; parents, Arnold H. and Clara Johnson; brother Kenneth A. Johnson; and sister Mardell Goemer.
She is survived by a sister-in-law, Mary Ann; brother-in-law, Henry; as well as many nieces and nephews.
