Christine Louise Swartzer, age 56, of Rockford, passed away Thursday, Nov. 20, 2014, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will take place Tuesday, Dec. 2 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Delano, with a gathering of family and friends from 9:30 to 11 a.m. in the church, prior to the Mass.Inurnment will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, at Elmwood Cemetery in Rockford.
Arrangements are with the Iten Funeral Home in Delano.
Christine was born Dec. 27, 1957, in Buffalo, to Arlen and Mildred (Lockwood) Peterson.
She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend to all. Christine was a lady who loved Christmas and the process of preparing for it. She would sacrifice herself to help others, and she kept her strength for everyone.
Christine was preceded in death by her niece, Jamie Bogdanoff; as well as her grandparents, Jessie and Delvine Peterson and Henry and Minnie Lockwood.
She is survived by her husband, Donald; children Kyle Davis, Alesha Swartzer, and Daniel Swartzer; her many furry children in the form of her many pets; her parents, Arlen and Mildred Peterson; siblings Laura (Dana) Bogdanoff, Mike Peterson, Lynn (Mark) Lang, Roger (Barb) Peterson, and Ted Peterson; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
