Diane Marie (Kaskinen) Taraldson, age 62, of Cokato, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014, at the Dassel Lakeside Care Center.
She was born March 28, 1951, in St. Cloud, to Charles and Lorraine (Olson) Kaskinen. Diane grew up in French Lake, and graduated from Kimball High School in 1969.
She married Shawn Taraldson March 28, 1978. They made their home in Cokato, where Diane worked as a secretary for a local law office and as a nurses aide at the Lakeside Care Center of Dassel, where she enjoyed helping the elderly.
Diane’s hobbies included antiquing, quilting, and embroidery. She enjoyed planting flowers and having many indoor plants. Her dogs brought her much joy. When she wasn’t working she enjoyed spending time visiting with friends, family, and residents at the nursing home.
She is survived by her husband, Shawn, of Cokato; son Tom (Sue) Hedlund of Dassel; mother and stepfather, Lorraine (Marshall) Werner of South Haven; brothers Dean (Myrna) Kaskinen of Kimball, Duane Kaskinen of Lincoln, NE, Rollie (Mary) Werner of Annandale, and Randy (Kim) Werner of South Haven; and many nieces and nephews.
Diane was preceded in death by her father, Charles (Bill) Kaskinen; and her grandparents.
The funeral service took place Saturday, Feb. 15 at 4 p.m. at Church of Christ in Dassel, with visitation from 2 to 4 p.m. at the church.
