Dennis L. Venske, age 53, of Winsted, passed away Saturday, Sept. 6, 2014.
He was born Sept. 21, 1960, in Watertown, the son of Marvin and Cordella (Henning) Venske. Dennis was baptized and confirmed at St. Mark Lutheran Church in New Germany.
A family man, Dennis truly enjoyed being around his children and his brothers and sisters. He loved being a farmer.
He enjoyed fishing, going to the coffee shop, old tyme music, building different things, his dogs, going to Winstock, snowmobiling, and his vehicles.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Cordella Venske; brothers Bruce Venske, Douglas Venske, and a brother in infancy.
He is survived by his loving family: wife Marlene Venske; son David Venske and Stephanie Feld of Winsted; daughter Beth Venske and Corey Rasset of Winsted; siblings Richard and Marlane Venske of Arlington, Roger and Roberta Venske, Sharon Venske, all of Winsted, Kenneth and Ginger Venske of Chaska, and Karen and Donald Kuhnau of Montrose; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Ralph and Kathy Segner, Jerry Russell, Kevin and Erica Russell, and Carol and Joe Poolo; goddaughter Alexia Latham; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
His funeral service took place Thursday, Sept. 11 at 12:30 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home in Waconia with the Rev. Helmar Heckel officiating. Interment was at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Mayer.
Visitation was Wednesday, Sept. 10 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home in Waconia, and continued Thursday, one hour prior to the service.
Casket bearers were Ron Hoese, Jeff Boehmke, Steve Kassulker, Peter Kluse, Kevin Russell, Steve Strobl, Terry Jopp, and Jeremy Hoffman.
