Dale T. Anderson Obituary – 8/5/2015


Dale Thomas Anderson, age 86, formerly of Dassel, passed away peacefully Wednesday Aug. 5, 2015.

A private memorial service will take place at Fort Snelling Wednesday, Aug. 19. A celebration of Dale’s life for friends and family will be Saturday, Aug. 22 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the home of his daughter, Lyn (Anderson) Borgmann of Howard Lake. Please RSVP to (763)464-9030.

A loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Dale was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Betty B. (Bollman) Anderson.

He was born June 6, 1929, in Kimball, to Walter and Velma Anderson.

Dale graduated from Dassel High School in 1947.

Following high school, he worked for Bills Roofing of Cokato, before enlisting in the Army in November 1947, and serving his country until November 1951.

Dale then returned to Dassel to marry Betty. He worked for King Koil and lived in the Fridley/Coon Rapids area with Betty.

Dale was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church for over 40 years.

A quiet man who observed everything, and said very little, Dale enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He always liked a good donut and a bold cup of coffee, and he worked hard his whole life.

After retirement, Dale and Betty continued to work as volunteers on mission trips throughout the United States. Dale’s work ethic, quietness, and sense of humor won the hearts of many.

He is survived by his sons: Scott (Jenifer), Mark (Mary), and Bryan (Robin); daughter, Lyn (Craig); 12 grandchildren: Cara, Nolan, Kurt, Ian, Jessica (Kyle), Heather, Casey, Jeremy (Jackie), Ethan, Jacob, Tony and Matthew; two great-grandchildren, Easton and Vance; and siblings Helen, Walt, Maggie, John, and Pat.
