Marion E. Beal, 80

Marion E. Beal, age 80, of Maple Plain, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2015, at the Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place Monday, Jan. 26 at 11 a.m. at the Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Loretto, followed by interment in the church cemetery.

Visitation was Sunday, Jan.25, at the Iten Funeral Home in Delano, and will continue Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. in the church, prior to Mass.

Arrangements are with the Iten Funeral Home in Delano.

Marion was born May 17, 1934, in Dayton, to Louis and Susan (Dehn) Schumacher.

She was united in marriage to Willis L. Beal Sept. 9, 1953, at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Anoka.

Marion was a longtime sales representative for Avon. She was an active volunteer with the cancer society, Meals on Wheels, and the local senior center. She was also a substitute cook for the Orono Schools.

Marion enjoyed baking and entering baking contests. She once won a trip to Hawaii from a baking competition.

She and Willis loved to square dance, and traveled around the area square dancing for many years.

Marion was preceded in death by her husband, Willis; and infant sons Raymond and Joseph.

She is survived by her children, Stephen (Anne) Beal, Leonard (Anita) Beal, Suzanne (Thomas) Hauer, and Marietta (Chris) Cady; 11 grandchildren: Bryan, David, Rebecca, Alex, Noah, Nathan, Andrew, Joe, Michael, Tessa, and Tara; one great-grandchild, Emrik; and brothers Elmer (Kate) Schumacher, and Walter (Betty) Schumacher.
