John P. Budd, age 74, of Maple Plain, formerly of Aitkin, passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2015, at Haven Homes in Maple Plain.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place Tuesday, July 21 at 11 a.m. at Ss Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Loretto, followed by interment with military honors in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday, July 20 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Iten Funeral Chapel in Delano; and will continue Tuesday from 10-11 a.m. at the church, prior to the Mass.
Arrangements are with the Iten Funeral Home, Delano.
John was born March 16, 1941, in Minneapolis, to Meryl and Mary (Kelly) Budd.
He served in the US Army from 1961-1964, and was honorably discharged with the rank of SP4.
John then worked as a driver for Meyer Bros Dairy until retirement.
After retirement, John and his wife, Suellen moved to Aitkin, where John started his scrap recycling business JB Cats, serving northern Minnesota.
He loved hunting and fishing.
John was preceded by his parents; and brother Michael Kelly Budd.
He is survived by his wife, Suellen (Krause); children Matt, Steve (Gail), and Julie Rehbein (Brett); grandchildren Tori, Taylor, Jack, Brooklyn, and Charlie; and siblings Jerry, Jim (JoAnn), Patricia Zachau, and Rose (Tom) Gag.
