Eleanore H. Cafferty, age 91, of Winsted, passed away Sunday, Sept. 6, 2015, at St. Mary’s Care Center in Winsted.
She was born June 12, 1924, in Silver Lake, the daughter of Adalbert and Martina (Kaczmarek) Dusoski.
Eleanore and Bryan F. Cafferty were joined in holy marriage May 18, 1943, at St. Adalbert Catholic Church in Silver Lake. God blessed their marriage with 11 children.
Eleanore was formerly employed at Green Giant in seasonal work for 18 years.
She enjoyed bingo, listening and dancing to old time music, canning, gardening, and was a great cook and baker. She spoke Polish fluently with her relatives and friends from Silver Lake.
Eleanore was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted.
She is survived by her loving children: Margie Kritzeck of Winsted, Elizabeth Joyner of Bloomington, Delores (Kenneth) Otto of Vadnais Heights, Theresa (James) Sexton of Delano, Bryan “Butch” Cafferty of Brainerd, Catherine (Brad) Wiggins of Victoria, Rosemary Cafferty and Alan (JoLynn) Cafferty, all of Winsted, and Julia (Allyn) Mann of Shawnee, KS; 17 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
Eleanore is further survived by a sister, Audrey Johnson of Crown Point, IN; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, James P. Cafferty, Marie Lieb, Mark (Lucille) Cafferty, Jerome (Theresa) Cafferty, Clayton Ziebarth, Loretta Smykalski, and Rita Beehler; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bryan F. Cafferty May 14, 2006; an infant daughter, Mary Ann; a son, Lawrence “Larry” Cafferty; grandchildren Jackson Cafferty, and twins Bridget and Elizabeth Wiggins; son-in-law Kenny Kritzeck; daughter-in-law Dianne Cafferty; her parents; a brother, Leonard Dusoski; sisters-in-law Marlene Dusoski, Alice Ziebarth, Anna Boehlke, Florentine Cafferty and Irene Cafferty; and brothers-in-law Edward Boehlke, Fred Lieb, Louis Smykalski, Frank Cafferty, and John Cafferty.
A Mass of Christian Burial took place Friday, Sept. 11 at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted, with Father Paul Schumacher as the celebrant. Interment followed at Holy Trinity Cemetery.
Visitation was Thursday, Sept. 10 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted, with a prayer service at 6 p.m. Visitation continued Friday morning at the funeral home from 9:30 to 10-30 a.m.
Honorary casket bearer was Tyler Mann.
Casket bearers were Jesse Cafferty, Mac Cafferty, Kevin Cafferty, Mark Otto, Ben Wiggins, Elroy Boehlke, David Dusoski, and Keith Bobrowske.
