Ryan Norman Carlsted, age 63, of Dassel, passed away Friday, Nov. 13, 2015, in Litchfield.
He was born Feb. 22, 1952, in Litchfield, the first son of Norman and Ruby Carlsted.
Ryan spent most of his life in and near Dassel. He graduated from Dassel High school in 1970, where he was involved with sports; and went on to Willmar community college.
Ryan worked in and around Dassel most of his life in the construction and roofing industries.
He liked getting together with friends and family, including his “other” family at Thirsty’s playing cards, and also enjoyed sports, NASCAR, and was an expert crossword puzzle solver. Ryan always stayed current on all the news and politics.
He is survived by his brother, Marshall Carlsted, and his wife LeeAnn, of Howard Lake; his sister, Shari Carlsted, of Scottsdale, AZ; nephews Day Lan Carlsted of St. Cloud, Sheldon and Erick Carlsted of Minneapolis, Ethan Bachmann-Carlsted of Scottsdale, AZ, Evyn Thompson of Cross Lake, his wife, Jenna, and three children, Myah, Maci, and Isaak; and nieces Kacie Carlsted of Howard Lake, and Ayla Carlsted of Tempe, AZ.
Ryan was preceded in death by his grandparents, Erick and Audrey Nelson; his parents, Norman and Ruby Carlsted; and his sister, Holly Thompson.
A celebration of life and gathering of family and friends took place Friday, Nov. 20 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home in Dassel. Interment will be at a later date at the Dassel Cemetery.
Arrangements were with the Johnson Funeral Home in Dassel.
