Lila F. Chapman, 92

Lila Florence Chapman, age 92, of Bonham, TX, formerly of Howard Lake, died Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2015, at Seven Oaks Nursing Home in Bonham.

She was born March 3, 1923, in Howard Lake, to Fred C. and Alvina (Reek) Buttenhoff.

Lila married James George Chapman Aug. 18, 1945, in Inglewood, CA. He preceded her in death in 1995.

Lila was a retired seamstress at Munsonwear in Paris, TX; and a housewife. After retirement, she spent many hours quilting at Bonham Snap Center with her friends.

She was very active in her church, St. James Lutheran Church in Allen Chapel, TX.

Lila is survived by sons James F. Chapman and wife Lori, and Charles A. Chapman and Joann Meyer, all of Minnesota; daughter Paula Chapman Warren and her husband, Gary of Texas; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She is further survived by numerous nieces and nephews; brothers Len, Ray, Garland, Otto, and Mel Buttenhoff; and sisters, Lorraine Feit, Gladys Peterson of Cokato, and Lucille Kraemer.

In addition to her husband, James, Lila was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Ardis and Edna.

Funeral services took place Sunday, Sept. 20 at 2 p.m. at St. James Lutheran Church in Allens Chapel, TX, with the Rev. John Walther officiating. Interment followed at Allens Chapel Cemetery. There was visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.
