Dolores C. Chrast, 86

Dolores C. Chrast, age 86, of Silver Lake, passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson.

She was born Nov. 20, 1928, in McLeod County, the daughter of Louis and Cecilia (Wozniak) Kaczmarek.

Dolores and Stanley C. Chrast were joined in holy marriage Nov. 22, 1949. God blessed their marriage with five children.

Dolores was formerly employed for 10 years at The Gallery Restaurant in Silver Lake, and for 25 years at Tonka Toys in Mound.

She enjoyed the Minnesota Twins, crocheting, bingo, going to the casino, playing 500, Buck Euchre, and traveling.

Dolores was a faithful member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Silver Lake, and also a member of the Silver Lake American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by four children: Charlotte (Gary) Gatz of Lester Prairie, Lorelei Witte of Hutchinson, Tom (Joanne) Chrast of Biscay, and Randy (Cindy) Chrast of Cokato; a daughter-in-law, Roxie Chrast of Silver Lake; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; brothers Bernie (Laura) Kaczmarek of Silver Lake, Gerald (Marie) Kaczmarek of Hutchinson, and Donald (Brenda) Kaczmarek of Ohio; a sister-in-law, Lillian Novak of Hutchinson; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Zickmond and Theresa Chrast of Silver Lake; and many other relatives and friends.

Dolores was preceded in death by her husband, Stan; a son, Loren; her parents; a sister, Dorothy Ruzicka; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Emil and Donna Chrast, Dominic Novak, Ralph and Clara Chrast, Frank Chrast, and Louis and Helen Chrast.

A Mass of Christian Burial took place Friday, May 8 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Silver Lake, with Father Paul Schumacher as the celebrant, and Alice Nowak as the organist. Interment followed at Holy Family Cemetery.

There was visitation Thursday, May 7 from 4:30 to 8 p.m. at the Maresh Funeral Home in Silver Lake; with a CCW Rosary recited at 5 p.m., and a prayer service at 6 p.m.

Visitation continued Friday morning from 9 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home, prior to the Mass.

Casket bearers were Jeff Chrast, Jason Chrast, Skylar Posusta Chrast, Michael Posusta Chrast, Justin Witte, and Jarred Witte.
