After a heroic battle with cancer, Gail N. Fleming, age 62, of Delano, was delivered into her Heavenly Father’s arms the morning of Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2015.
Gail graduated from Watertown High School and went on to attend Trinity College in Deerfield, IL. Upon college graduation, she entered the work force, where she spent the majority of her career in various levels of management in the long-term care industry.
Most recently, Gail served as the chief financial officer at Ewing Land Development in Pella, IA, and sat on the board of directors for Elim Preferred Services.
Gail had a true servant’s heart and was deeply involved in the lives of family and friends. Flower and vegetable gardening brought her much joy, as did singing hymns, especially harmonizing with her siblings.
She was preceded in death by her mom, Eleanor (Warkentin).
Gail is survived by her father, Harvey H. Flaming; siblings Phyllis (Jim) Groff, Maribeth (Chuck) Curtis, Erland (Cheryl) Flaming, and Merlin (Michele) Flaming; niece and nephews Scott (Kara) Groff, Benjamin (Mindi) Groff, Sonja (Erik) Hettinga, and Eric Flaming; and friends, Jody Wagner, and Bob Strandquist.
A memorial service took place Friday, Sept. 11 at 11 a.m. at Watertown Evangelical Free Church in Watertown.
Visitation was Thursday, Sept. 10 from 4-8 p.m. at Iten Funeral Home in Delano. There was also a gathering of family and friends one hour prior to the service at the church Friday.
The Iten Funeral Chapel in Delano handled the arrangements.
