William (Bill) Everet Horeis, age 80, of Harlingen, TX, passed away Monday, Nov. 9, 2015, at his residence.
Bill was born Oct. 19, 1935, in Sioux Falls, SD, to William C. Horeis and Amanda Jastrum.
He received his undergraduate degree from Augustana University, and a master’s degree from South Dakota State University.
Bill later served in the Air National Guard for several years.
He loved the theatre and acting, and performed professionally for two years in Sioux Falls, SD.
He then worked for over 30 years as a guidance counselor in Delano.
The last 10 years of his teaching career were spent in Chicago, counseling a diverse mix of inner city youth at St. Gregory High School.
Bill loved cars sports cars, NASCAR, and vintage cars. He also was never happier than when exploring the country in his RV with his wife, Sanda, and Huckleberry.
He is survived by his wife, Sanda; daughter Kristin Prewett; son Derek Horeis; sisters Beverly Riedel and Betty Hammer; beloved grandchildren; and extended family.
